We planted our first Peonies plant a few weeks ago. ( I should have watched this first) a few of the stalks bent over, they didn't break just are laying down. Will they come back or should they be cut at the bend? I'll be putting a cage around it tomorrow. I'm a newbie, sorry. Lol

You said the alkaline is what turns them pink, but I thought it was the other way around. I’m brand new to hydrangeas. I bought a white one and a purple one. I want them to stay the same as they are. My soil is naturally alkaline. How can I do this.

I was gifted a Hydrangea several years ago, blue one. The bush itself is beautiful but it never has more than 8 or 10 flowers on it. What to do?

Mine have multiplied so much that in the winter I can see the corms just sitting on top of the soil, kind of halfway buried. So after I mulch in the springtime a lot of them fall over when the stalks grow long. I'm trying to decide whether I should just dig them ALL up and separate them all out and rebury them deeper. But honestly there must be hundreds of corms in the bed. I would have to give a lot of way because they have just multiplied so very much.

Hello from Indiana! We have a hydrangea thats about 3-4 yrs now ( transplanted outside from a pot given as a gift) and never blooms but have normal leaves True, its in the shade of a big azalea bush and maybe that’s the reason for not blooming?🤔 I don’t really fertilize anymore that area because all the perennials are happy, we had some mulch too over the winter so I don’t really know the cause of not seeing any flowers🌸 🤔 I have giant hibiscus too very close that has super big, beautiful flowers with no problems at all! Any tips? Should I move it? Because it doesnt really grow too big either…as a big bush!

Hey Kelly, I see a lot of small yellowish blooms there. Are those new or old blooms? How does the process work? Do the new blooms start as yellow and then become blue? Or are those ones that were blue already?

Appreciate your experience maam. I'm hoping the ones I just transplanted survive. I got them from a local nursery but there were 7 in one 10 inch crowding planter so I transplanted them . I could avoid the heat of the day here in SW Wa because my time is limited. I'm thinking once they relax a bit from the transfer. I can use spray n grow to revive them in the cool of the evening and water. Can you please respond to this. I hope it's ok. I know nothing about plants.

Why do mine look worse after watering? It’s 100 degrees out, I watered at the base for one a few minutes and then they look wilted.

Two things I do. One is nematodes. I always do them once a year. The other is I use a product called Vitazyme. It is a probiotic that you buy in concentrated form. You can use this stuff on any plant or tree. A lot of the apple orchards around here use it as a drench in the spring. It will blow you away. Of course, that shovelful of composted animal manure helps too. Do you hold your buds? We are just finishing the season here and now I will start pulling buds out of the cooler to complete their bloom. You can hold them up to two months. oh, and I have some peonies they call Pioneer Peonies. They have a flash of red at the center. I got mine from a man in his 90s who got them from his grannie. Love them.

I use what I call tomato cages to prop my peonies up and it works pretty good for the main part of the plant, but the stems that grow above the cage with the heavy flowers still droop over. I’m thinking I need an even taller cage to support the actual blooms. Maybe that grid support will work, I’ll check it out! P.S. Are there Peonies with stems that are stronger to start with? Specific species I mean, that you could recommend (I’m in zone 4-5)? I’d appreciate it.🙏
